The Duchesse pump featured a long asymmetrical pointed toe, a deep V-cut vamp and high sides that narrowed through the arch into a slim 90 mm stiletto. At the Golden Globes in January and at YSL Beauty’s Love 24/7 Bodega pop-up in February, she wore Saint Laurent’s L’entracte slingbacks, both pairs built around an elongated pointed toe and a high-cut front. The Duchesse kept the exposed-instep effect of those Saint Laurent shoes, but replaced the slingback strap with a cleaner closed shape and a deeper V opening.

Naomi Watts also wore black Duchesse pumps to the same Balenciaga show on Saturday, giving the silhouette another front row outing that afternoon.
